Denise has written a story of events that happened in Dumfriesshire, Scotland in the nineteenth century. This was published in the Autumn 2018 edition of well-known literary magazine Southlight and is a true story of the murder of a pedlar boy called John Elliot in the lowland hills of Eskdalemuir and the local peoples’ response to it. The clogs in the main image are the actual clogs that were used, currently housed in the Museum of Dumfries.
We are currently writing a song about John Elliot so, if you are interested, you can follow RioMacRae across the summer months and hear the song as it emerges!
